Cleaning Procedures

The cleaning procedures described in this section will help you maintain

the optimum print quality and minimize downtime of your C55 printer.

Before you begin, be sure that you have a basic understanding of the parts

of your printer. Also, pay strict attention to the cautions given in each

process.

Cleaning the Print Drum Charger

The Print Drum Charger is a thin wire mesh used to place a charge on the

Print Drum. If this mesh become dirty the Print Drum will not obtain a

proper charge resulting in image quality defects. To clean the Print Drum

Charger, follow the steps below.

1. Open the front and top covers of the printer and locate the Print

Drum.

2. On the top left side of the Print Drum you will see a green thumb tab.

This is the Print Drum Charger cleaner slide.

3. Simply slide this Print Drum Charger cleaner slide back and forth

several times and return it to its original location.
